Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes announced Sunday that he would open an inquiry into the billionaire businessman who owns X. Musk suggested that Moraes was behind the ban, writing Sunday on X that the judge had “brazenly and repeatedly betrayed the constitution and people of Brazil. “As a result, we will probably lose all revenue in Brazil and have to shut down our office there. X has faced criticism for accommodating government censorship demands in the past, with Musk saying the company has no choice but to comply. For example, it blocked some X accounts in Turkey at the behest of the government ahead of the country’s elections last year, while at the same time contesting the orders in court.

Ex-Education Secretary Betsy DeVos maxed out contributions to Michigan GOP Senate candidate Mike Rogers. In total, the DeVos family gave Rogers $46,200 in the third quarter, a significant sum this early in the race. In addition to Betsy DeVos, several other members of the DeVos family — who are highly influential in Michigan Republican politics — gave the maximum political contributions to Rogers. Betsy DeVos, a former Michigan Republican Party chair, served as Education secretary under President Donald Trump from February 2017 to January 2021. Last year, the former Education secretary attracted renewed attention after she remarked that the department she once led "should not exist" during a speech at the national Moms for Liberty summit.

The actor Hill Harper is making moves toward a US Senate campaign launch in Michigan, per Politico. According to Politico, Harper, who lives in Detroit, is putting the final touches on a campaign launch that is still likely a few weeks away. "I think Hill getting in the race would be a really good thing for Michigan Democrats," Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton told Politico. Most major Democratic officials in the state passed on the race earlier this year, but the Democratic primary is not hurting for candidates. Besides Slotkin, the other announced Democratic candidates include former state Rep.
